Positive p2p Energy at NC GIS 2007
I traveled down to the North Carolina GIS (NC GIS) 2007 conference last week and shared some of our p2p, CarbonCloud, Gaia 3/IR and other technology with folks. I'm very glad we attended - the event was full of positive energy.
NC GIS 2007 was held at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2. I won't go so far as to say it was the best geospatial event I've ever attended but it was darn close. I've spent alot of time at the larger events and even hosted some of my own but NC GIS 2007 had a unique flavor about it - people seemed to know what they were doing there (participating in the GIS user community in NC) and what they wanted to get out of the event (to learn about the latest technology and cool real-world applications).
Much thanks to Virtual Earth, Wilbur Smith Associates and our other neighbors that helped us test Gaia 3/IR and the p2p CarbonCloud. Thanks also to the folks that took the time to join us at the "p2p for Incident Response" talk on Friday and for the opportunity to present at the North Carolina Open Source GIS User Group - it was a pleasure.
If anyone wants to get a copy of Gaia 3/IR Beta 3 just let us know at info@thecarbonproject.com.
